Zealfit × Eleiko
The origins of Zealfit Malaysia
Azmir is the founder and part owner of Zealfit Malaysia. He started selling Eleiko since 2015 and has travelled across SEA and East Asia to help customers build their gyms. He is well-versed in Eleiko's history and product range, having bought, installed and used most of them.
Over the years, he has honed his knowledge of Eleiko's equipment and in-gym design. He is passionate in helping customers realize their dream Eleiko gym.
Our story
Zealfit started from Azmir's house in 2014 with a dream to offer Malaysians the opportunity to train using one of the best strength equipment in the world. In 2015, it receives its first shipment, a few crates parked in the driveway a terrace house. 5 different sets of barbells and plates, all carried from the porch to a little room at the back of the house. That was our first "warehouse".
Customers would come over to the house to look at the equipment in awe. The business grew slowly, through word of mouth and an Instagram account managed by a 38 year old design illiterate engineer. By the time 2016 rolled in, we managed to build our little niche in the market. Eleiko products were in demand.
By 2017, we secured our first commercial gym – Celebrity Fitness. That grew to include Fitness First where the first sound and vibration reduction platform was used to solve a specific problem these clubs faced. More and more customers now recognize the brand. They've had the opportunity to feel the difference in an Eleiko bar.
The pandemic in 2020-2022 did not stop the growth. If anything the business grew into the home market segment where the demand for home gym equipment spiked. Post pandemic, the growth momentum continued and with the release of the Eleiko Prestera system, demand for Eleiko increased.
Today, with more and more new products coming out of Eleiko Sweden HQ, the future looks very exciting for the Malaysian gym market and lifters alike. Nothing connects you to the equipment better than Eleiko. It's truly a different feeling.
